Next up on our Member Spotlight -  Edelweiss Village + Resort!

1️⃣ 𝙏𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙪𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 - 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨? 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩?

Edelweiss Village + Resort officially opened its doors in the summer of 2024, but its story reaches back more than a century. The Village was originally home to the legendary Swiss guides and their families, who played a central role in shaping the mountain guiding culture of our region in the early 1900s.

Today, we’ve carefully restored and refurbished this historic property, preserving its original character while reimagining it as a unique alpine resort experience. Our goal is to honour the legacy of the Swiss Village while sharing its charm, history, and sense of adventure with guests from near and far.

2️⃣ 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙖 𝙆𝙃𝘾𝘾𝘾 𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙟𝙤𝙞𝙣?

Edelweiss Village + Resort joined the KHCCC as a member about a year ago. We believe that connecting with other businesses within the Golden community is important, and felt that becoming a member would allow us to do that. We also enjoy the benefits of the membership, including the networking and marketing support we've received.

3️⃣ 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙧𝙪𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮?

Reviving the historic Edelweiss Village and making it relevant again for the town of Golden and its residents is an accomplishment we are extremely proud of. Its story is truly one of a kind—there’s nothing else like it anywhere in Canada—and we’re grateful to have brought this remarkable property back from the brink.

4️⃣ 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨?

We’re excited about the next phase of Edelweiss Village + Resort, which includes plans for a spa, alpine therapy, and a tea house for our guests. This fall, we’re also launching the Guide Days Folkfest—a celebration that offers a wonderful opportunity for the community to connect with the resort and its heritage.
