The Columbia River Catering food truck has become a familiar sight in Golden. I caught up with Dan with his plans for another COVID summer and what keeps him going through business challenges.
Q: When are you going to open the foodtruck for the season?
A: Plan is for next Monday, April 12! We will be in the CP lot to feed our hungry locals and travelers alike. From there we will just take it one day at a time - adjusting as we need.
We will also continue our hot deliveries and frozen entrees.
Q: Columbia River Catering is constantly rising to meet the challenges and changes in the business community?
A: It’s become apparent to me that nothing in life is ever smooth, in fact it’s total chaos and we can fight against that or we can embrace this as our stepping stone and move forward.
I always ask myself, how do I turn this into a business opportunity, where is the silver lining and can I do something about it?
Q: What is your secret to your success?
A: Balance, living here in Golden I am constantly grounded in Nature - even just the view of the mountains is something that brings me joy. This grounding allows me to focus on what I can do and move away from what I can’t do.
Q: What do you love about doing business in Golden?
A: The Lifestyle! I can work all day and come home and hop on my bike for an hour or head out to the ski hill with the kids. I feel so fortunate that we’ve created this supportive business community in a town of 5000 people.
Q: Anything else to add?
A: I love our community, I can’t stress this enough. It’s been a hard year and even with all the uncertainty our small businesses are supported. Thanks Golden :)
Keep an eye out for Dan and his fabulous food truck, hitting the roads next Monday.
