The Kicking Horse Country Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 2025 Business & Community Excellence Awards (BCEA’s)!
Each year, these awards shine a spotlight on the local businesses, organizations, and individuals whose hard work, innovation, and dedication make Golden and Area A such a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.
This year’s awards feature 12 categories that reflect the diversity of our community.
• Business of the Year: Honouring a business that demonstrates outstanding innovation, sustainable development, exceptional client relations, and a strong commitment to community support.
• New Business of the Year: Recognizing a local business that began operations after January 2024 and has made a positive impact on the community.
• Tourism Award: Celebrating a business in the tourism sector—accommodations, activity operators, events, restaurants, and more—that delivers exceptional visitor experiences, introduces innovative products or services, and upholds sustainable and equitable practices.
• Community Organization Award: Presented to a non-profit or charity that has made exceptional contributions to the community, demonstrating integrity, excellence, and strong leadership.
• Industry & Trade Excellence: Awarded to a business that stands out for innovation in projects or processes in their industry, professionalism in service delivery, and meaningful impact on the community.
• Young Entrepreneur Award: Highlighting a young entrepreneur (under 35 years old) whose work showcases creativity, innovation, and a strong positive influence on the community.
• Food & Beverage Excellence: Recognizing a food and beverage business—brick-and-mortar or not—that consistently delivers quality, excellent customer service, and originality in its offerings.
• Community Legacy Award: Honouring a business that has operated in the community for 20 years or more, demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and a lasting commitment to Golden through both innovation and community involvement.
• Farm to Fork: Celebrating a business that produces locally sourced consumable goods—livestock, preserves, fruits, vegetables, grains, beverages, and more—strengthening our local food system.
• Retail Excellence: Awarded to a retail business, with or without a storefront, that excels in quality, customer service, and innovative practices.
• Customer Service Excellence: Recognizing a business or organization that consistently goes above and beyond to deliver outstanding customer service.
• NEW for 2025: Employee of the Year – recognizing an outstanding employee whose customer service skills and community support make them the go-to person in their workplace.
In addition, the Peter Bowle-Evans Volunteer Award will once again honour an exceptional community volunteer. Named in memory of Peter Bowle-Evans, whose passion helped shape Mt. Seven into the destination it is today, this award celebrates individuals whose volunteer work creates a lasting economic and social impact in Golden and Area A.
